1. Cut the soap into 5.5 cm (2") diameter circle with a paring knife, thinly cut off the top of the soap with a paring knife to create smooth surface and draw a 1.5 cm (5/8") diameter circle with a pointed tool (such as a knife point or a toothpick).
2. Carve a cylinder shape in the center. Holding your knife at a right angle, deeply cut the circle.
3. Draw three lines on the top of the cylinder as shown. Then trim the center into a small dome shape.
4. Cut the soap into 5.5cm (2") diameter circle with a paring knife, thinly cut off the top of the soap with a paring knife to create smooth surface and draw a 1.5 cm (5/8") diameter circle with a pointed tool (such as a knife point or a toothpick).
5. Thinly cut off the soap around the center (three leaves). Divide the soap around the center into five equal parts by five short lines.
6. Carve the first row of the five leaves. Deeply cut a pointed thick leaf shape, then cut off the soap around it.
7. Trim the edge of the leaf.
8. Repeat steps 6-7 to create additional four leaves.
9. Cut off the unwanted soap between the leaves and the edge of the soap.
10. Carve the second row of the five leaves. Cut off the soap between the two leaves to make an indent, then cut a pointed leaf shape in the indent.
11. Cut off the soap around the leaf and trim the edge of the leaf.
12. Repeat steps 10-11 to create additional four leaves. Two rows of five leaves are done.
13. Cut off the unwated soap between the leaves and the edge of the soap. Create the third row of five leaves as in steps 10-12.
14. Cut off the unwanted soap around the leaves and trim the bottom edge of the soap.
15. Draw outlines of five leaves, then cut off the unwanted soap along the outlines.
16. Carve the bottom of the succulent as shown. Done!
